Thanks to Alfg for sourcing these (from God knows where.)
A comprehensive list of Billboard hits, with more data than you can shake a stick at. Useful for Custom tagging. These one are txt files, and the formatting is not as consistent, but could be handy still. |

Book List: John Ringo
The "book list" series will attempt to create the mood for reading a particular author's works by starting with that author's own "music to read by" lists. In the case of John Ringo, these songs are actually the favorite works of the book's characters, as described in the appendix of "When the Devil Dances". I'm not sure it reflects the biting edge that the series really demands, but it makes an interesting experiment. |

FFR000: Pushing The Boundaries
I shall at some point be posting a weekly mood. For now, however, this is a mix based on one of my radio shows on 1431AM URF (listen at urfonline.com on Wednesday nights between 9-10p.m. GMT).
The premise of the show was to explore the ways in which sound is being pushed and perverted at the very fringes of the music scene. This was explored through ambient soundscapes, mash-ups, samples from concept albums and unusual cover versions of songs that were not so normal in the first place, including a Romanian-folk-rock-esque version of Aphex Twin's 'Come To Daddy'(1).
Anyway, that is it. If anything interesting comes up using this beta-mood then do let me know.
Jay (Faces For Radio).
(Footnote: 1) - I'll post a link to where this can be found online if anybody here displays interest and/or curiosity.
(Footnote: 2) - You can lose the '1' at the beginning of the filename if you like; I certainly don't like it being there. |

FFR001: Shout It Out
The first in a weekly series (which is a great indication of my ridiculous sense of timing as I'm off travelling for the best part of the month before the week is out, but this can serve as a taster).
This collection of songs are a selection of those that are unashamed in letting what they have to say be heard, but without all that offensive screaming nonsense. Something to rock out to and to wake up the neighbours. |

FFR002: Before You Smile
Because holiday plans have been delayed a bit I shall post this mood file now, to save on the catching up thing upon my return. This mood file is based upon a series of what I consider to be intelligently crafted hip hop (at least, mostly hip hop) songs that sound cheerful in tune, but should be listened to properly BEFORE YOU SMILE.
Of course, a lot of that depends on whether you have such music yourself. Otherwise it'll just be an interesting ensemble of cheerful-sounding, beat-driven verbal 'poetry'. Either way, it's something a little different from what has been seen elsewhere on this site so far. |

FFR003: Sounds Like Floating
The first of a 'homecoming double-pack', this mood contains a lighter variety of music to carry you away into a unique dreamscape; but be warned: this particular dream, like the best of them, can occasionally have sourer moments... |

FFR004: Shine In The Night
And the second. This mood style is similar to the first, but is much sparser and darker. Like dying embers, these songs somehow shine out through the darkness they tend towards. |

FFR005: Voyage Of Discovery
Things have been rather quiet around here lately, or am I missing something? Either way, this is my latest. It's a deep dark journey beneath the waves. Explore the murkier depths of your music collection and see what's to be found there.
EDIT: I have now added my $0.02 to the creating mood techniques discussion. |

FFR006: A Song For Him
Another mellow one. And it'll be the last mellow one in a row from me for now, I promise. This mood will put together some tender tunes for someone dear to you. Because I care. That is all. |
